I love to read and get great pleasure out of using the Los Angeles Public Library system to support my habit. They have a wonderful online interface that lets you search for a book and then place a hold on it, which causes them to send it to the branch you select. You get an email letting you know when it has arrived, and then you’ve got a week to go by and pick it up.
My experiences with time banking have led me to consume several books, while circumstances in my life brought other books to my notice that ended up relating directly to the concepts covered in the first books. Below is a list of the titles, and in the near future, I hope to write some brief reviews of them, to be posted on this website. But for now, peruse at your own leisure:
∞ The Art of Asking: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help by Amanda Palmer, 2014
∞ The Gift: Creativity and The Artist in The Modern World by Lewis Hyde, 2007
∞ Happy City: Transforming Our Lives by Urban Design by Charles Montgomery, 2013
and next on my list: The Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible by Charles Eisenstein, 2013
